I was wandering down chapel st and I chanced upon Ciscos a charming little coffee roaster.
After an hour of friendly banter I left with a coffee grinder and a couple bags of beans. That was a year ago I’m now a happy subscriber. I get 1 kilo of Prahran and 1 kilo of Windsor freshly roasted to my door once a month. The coffee is superb the folk at Ciscos know their beans and any interaction with the crew has been kind, friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend.

One drawback is the absence of a roast date on the packaging. Customers have to rely on trust that the beans inside truly originate from the stated region, especially since the taste of coffee beans across different packages can be quite similar. On the positive side, delivery is noticeably faster compared to other companies we have used previously.

I’ve been purchasing coffee from Ciscos since the 1980s but my parents purchased coffee regularly, usually weekly when we lived in Windsor in the 1970s. I recently went back and purchased Mexican decaf and it’s sensational! It’s not just the coffee, it’s the other products and service that makes this shop so wonderful.

Many more years ago than I wish to admit, I used to stop off in Chapel Street on my way home from nightshift and enjoy a coffee and a chocolate covered plum for breakfast. We are talking 1996-2000. The coffee was always magnificent. Whilst on a nostalgia binge last week I discovered that Cisco still existed. I hurriedly purchased 2 KG of beans and they were delivered within 2 days. I ground them up and into the espresso machine they went. They were magnificent. I know that the aforementioned nostalgia was a major factor but I swear I could remember the notes of this coffee from back in the day. The prices are on a par with what I have been paying from my current supplier but the results are far superior. I am sold. Again.

So the son has taken over. He has taken it into the internet age and upgraded the packaging. However the roasting hasn't gotten better since I tasted it many years ago. Also his sales technique is uninformative and directive rather than enlarging the knowledge of the purchaser. It's not bad, but it's just not trying hard enough for Melbourne.

They have such a vast array of selections with regards to coffee beans. Not to mention lots of coffee gadgets to consider. Honestly it’s all about the beans and the expert and friendly team for me. The beans here are so good (I’m a coffee snob) and on top of that the cost of the beans are incredibly reasonable. The team have always got a great recommendation, and are passionate about their craft.

Recently discovered Ciscos Coffee who are a small batch coffee roaster in Chapel street Windsor. Tried the Prahran and it was great. Went back today and thought I would try the Windsor and just sampling a cup of it right now. I actually like this even more than the Prahran it’s a bit stronger which I like. Goes well with strawberry and cream Tim Tam. I think I’ve found my favourite coffee roasters in Melbourne. Tim who runs the shop couldn’t have been more helpful. Highly recommended.

When looking for a coffee subscription service, I stumbled onto Ciscos. I went into the Prahran shop to ask some questions and was given a lot of time, and even samples to take away. I then subscribed, and have been enjoying freshly ground coffee being delivered to my door every 3 weeks for about the last 9 months now, and I am very happy with the coffee and the service. Every time I need to make contact, they've very prompt and helpful. The Coffee is delicious and it's the most reasonably priced coffee subscription I've come across. Can't recommend highly enough.

I've only had the chance to try the Peru Organic, and it's delicious. I could easily have this as my go-to brew but there's so many to try. Besides, I still have 2 kilos of Melbourne Blend to go through.
A weekend has passed. Or a month.. We tried the Santos and the Sidano. I can't judge or give preference. Both are delicious. We tested the Melbourne on a friend who's quite finicky with her coffee, and she loved it.

Literally have the best customer experience every time I come in here. The staff are so friendly and incredibly knowledgeable. Ciscos coffee has been in the coffee scene since the 1960’s. It’s well run and great to deal with all staff there. I love their “Prahran” beans. Full rich flavour with a slightly sweet and nutty finish. All their beans are great tasting and the best part is they are freshly roasted each week. But online or in store. I have tried many different brands but Ciscos is one of the best. Give them a try.

Ciscos always do an incredible job. Previous reviewers have mentioned the Prahran blend for a reason- it’s so good! The staff are always very friendly and take their time to share their expertise. I always leave their shop feeling a little happier than when I walked in.

We have been shopping there since approximately 1975 or so and have been served brilliantly by several generations of the same family. We live in the country now and still go there regularly to buy our coffee nuts etc.

This shop is a true gem of Chapel Street. Amazing staff who are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. The range of coffee, sweets and coffee machines etc is huge and very reasonably priced. The big advantage, is that you can talk to them and they can find the easiest way for you to make your best cup of coffee. I am sometimes intimidated by some shops, because I find them a bit snobby, but this shop is definitely not that. I got some advice on the aeropress, which seemed simple enough, bought some coffee they recommended fir my taste and went home to try it our. Soon after, I was drinking some of the best coffee ever. Whether you a coffee connoisseur, or a newbie, this is the perfect place to visit. I really can’t recommend it highly enough.

I'd been buying my Ciscos beans for a couple of years and was gutted to have to say goodbye when I recently moved from Melbourne. But never fear! Their trusty online ordering system means I'm only ever a few days away from receiving their freshly roasted offerings. I wouldn't bother going anywhere else - customer for life. We came from Sydney and found this great shop with home roasted coffee! The staff is very professional and patient to explain everything you want to know! We bought a bag of Brazilian and a bag of Cuba beans at the end!
